Why Do We Go To University?

I have been thinking about this question for a while and it’s always been something that we do to ‘further our skills’ and ‘get the Uni Experience’. Why do we actually go to university? And is it really worth over £100,000 worth of debt you’d have to pay off until you’re 60?
